Guiding your financial journey

Our Mission: Education, Not Sales

We believe adults deserve financial education that respects their intelligence, connects to their values, and provides clear direction without pressure or product agendas.

Our Story

luminaasas was founded in Bangkok in early 2022 by a group of educators who had spent years observing a persistent gap in the financial education landscape. While there was no shortage of advice available to those approaching or living in their retirement years, much of it came intertwined with product sales, commission structures, and vested interests. People were left wondering: who can I trust to simply help me understand my situation without trying to sell me something?

The founding team consisted of former university lecturers in economics and personal finance, along with professionals who had worked in financial planning but grown weary of the sales-driven model. They shared a conviction that adults over forty—people who had accumulated life experience, professional expertise, and often complex financial situations—deserved a different approach. They deserved education that treated them as capable individuals seeking clarity, not as targets for persuasion.

The name luminaasas was chosen deliberately. It evokes light, illumination, and the idea of seeing one's path more clearly. The compass rose became our visual symbol because it represents orientation and direction—two things people often seek when thinking about their financial future. We are not here to tell you where to go, but to help you understand where you are and what tools you have for navigating your own course.

Since opening, we have served hundreds of participants across Bangkok and surrounding areas. Our programs remain small by design, limited to cohorts of six to ten participants, depending on the program. This allows for genuine conversation, peer learning, and individual attention. Our educators have no affiliations with banks, insurance companies, investment firms, or product providers. Their only role is to teach, facilitate understanding, and support participants in developing their own informed perspectives.

We have deliberately chosen to focus on adults over forty because this is a life stage where financial decisions often carry significant weight. Retirement is no longer a distant concept but an approaching reality. Questions about asset allocation, healthcare costs, legacy planning, and lifestyle budgeting become urgent. Yet many people in this age group have never received structured education on these topics. Our programs fill that space with clarity, practical exercises, and a respectful tone.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that financial education should connect to personal values. Money is not abstract—it is a tool for living the kind of life you want to live. Our programs encourage participants to reflect on what matters most to them at this stage of life, and then to connect their financial decisions to those priorities. This values-based approach leads to plans that feel meaningful rather than formulaic.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains unchanged: provide thoughtful, independent, and practical financial education for adults who want to understand their situation more clearly and plan their future with greater confidence. We measure our success not by the number of participants we enroll, but by the clarity and confidence they gain through the learning process.

Our Standards and Approach

We adhere to clear principles that guide how we design programs, interact with participants, and maintain our educational integrity.

Independence from Product Providers

None of our educators receive commissions, referral fees, or any form of compensation from financial institutions, investment firms, or insurance providers. Our only income is from program fees paid by participants.

Evidence-Based Content

Program content is drawn from peer-reviewed research in behavioral economics, financial planning best practices, and adult learning principles. We cite sources and avoid presenting opinion as fact.

Small Cohort Sizes

We limit program cohorts to six to ten participants. This allows for meaningful peer conversation, individual attention from the educator, and a learning environment that feels personal rather than impersonal.

Values-Based Framework

We encourage participants to connect their financial decisions to what matters most to them personally. This approach leads to plans that feel meaningful and sustainable rather than formulaic or borrowed from generic advice.

Comprehensive Materials

Participants receive detailed reference materials, workbooks, and personalized planning documents. These are designed to serve as long-term resources that participants can return to as their situations evolve.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Discussions within program sessions are confidential. We do not share participant information with third parties, and we create an environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their situations openly.
